Chris Ezeh BA Mass Communication, health professional, journalist und media communication expert. I was born in Nigeria and have been living in Germany since 1990. I studied and trained in Nigeria and Germany. After my graduation in journalism and mass communication I worked in Nigeria for The Guardian Newspapers Ltd., based in Lagos, and later for the Nigerian Television Authority, also in Lagos. Later, I worked for the International Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE) in Nigeria and Germany.
Because of my various qualifications in communication sciences, media, IT and health sciences, since 2004 I have been working in two areas, both as a health specialist and as a journalist with my own online portal: At the journalistic level, I am the founder of EuroAfricaCentral Network (www.euroafricacentral.com) and the editor of the EuroAfrica-Magazine Online (www.euroafrica-magazine.com).
As a social entrepreneur, journalist, health professional and intercultural mediator I work relentlessly using the EuroAfricaCentral Network to develop and implement projects through far-reaching discussions, researches, seminars und presentations, which serve as a tool to address social, health and environmental problems, to conduct educational work in Africa and Europe, to expose and address ethnic discrimination and prejudice in western media.
Since 1999, I have been working in the German health sector and since 2007, in the Querschnittzentrum (professional emergency hospital Boberg in Hamburg) in the specialist department for foreign patients. In December 2009 I qualified as a certified intercultural mediator for the Office for Social, Family and Health Affairs and Consumer Protection, the Office for Health and Consumer Protection, Company Health Insurance Fund, MIMI (Mit Migranten für Migranten – With Migrants, For Migrants), Project Hamburg http://mimi-online.bkk-bv-gesundheit.de/ and the Ethno-Medical Centre in Hanover http://www.ethno-medizinisches-zentrum.de.
In collaboration with RbP–Berlin (Registrierungsstelle beruflich Pflegender GmbH http://www.regbp.de/home.html ) since 2009 I have been offering courses on the subject of “Transcultural Care, Intercultural Care and Multicultural Care“ for nursing schools, medical staff, nursing staff and managers, nursing mentors, student nurses, management personnel and therapists in the health care system, specialists, trainers, disseminators, teaching staff and mediators throughout Germany.
